The Rev. Janet McCune Edwards, Ph.D., Co-Moderator of "More Light" Presbyterians, will be at Trinity United Church on Saturday, September 18, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. for a presentation and discussion on the Belhar Confession.
The Belhar Confession has now been sent to the presbyteries by the 2010 General Assembly. It needs a 2/3 vote to move on to approval at the 2012 General Assembly for becoming the 12th document in the Book of Confessions. |
The Belhar Confession is a wonderful cry from the heart of the mixed race Reformed Church in 1986 during apartheid in South Africa. One of its central themes is "Unity." Come explore the very Presbyterian reasons for why this belongs in our Book of Confessions. |
Kindly RSVP to the church office (via email or by phone) no later than September 14th, if you plan to attend. |

“The labyrinth is one of the oldest contemplative and transformational tools known to mankind.” said Yvette Halpin, in whose yard the labyrinth is. “It has been used for centuries for prayer, meditation and personal spiritual growth and centering.”
The labyrinth is open to the community. Those who drive to the location are asked to park on the grass, not on the lane. |

The A CapPALS is an a cappella PALS (Prayer Activity Learning Sharing) Group at Trinity United Church. |
The A CapPALS is a group of people who love to sing and harmonize. The group presently has members from 3 different churches; about half are choir members from Trinity United Church (TUC). We generally meet one or two Saturday mornings a month at TUC, from 10 AM until 11:30 AM. At each meeting, from 10:00 until 10:30 is our time for prayer, learning and sharing; from 10:30 until 11:30 ~ we SING! We sing all kinds of music: sacred, show tunes, spirituals, hymns, etc. We sing just about anything that we can find with an arrangement for 4 parts (SATB) that has good harmony. The A CapPALS sings once or twice during summer worship at TUC, and also for occasional outside events.
Examples of our music include: It is Well with My Soul, Think About His Love, Love Lifted Me, Do Lord, Give Me That Old Time Religion, Let Me Call You Sweetheart, Grandfather's Clock, Steal Away to Jesus, You'll Never Walk Alone, Siyahamba (South African Freedom Song), When I Grow Too Old To Dream, The Band Played On, When You Wore a Tulip, and much, much more.
